- We always need how I went veg stories, additions to our food diaries section telling us what you ate today, and your original recipes.
- Think about your experience. We love to hear stories of how you volunteered at a farm sanctuary, made changes in your school, started a veg or animal rights club, or convinced your parents that being veg wasn't all that bad. Tell us about a day in the life of a veggie teen, how you make a difference by recycling, or how you and your life are different now compared to when you ate meat.
- Offer advice on how to make it through holiday dinners with your meat-eating relatives, come-backs to ridiculous criticisms like "But how do you know vegetables don't feel any pain?", or how you handle dating and other social situations with your friends and peers.
- Get philosophical about what it means to have cruelty-free fashion sense, how it feels to know you are making a difference in the world, what being a vegetarian means to you, or how you think veg teens are changing the world.
- Write a review of a veg or animal rights book, a music review of a CD by your favorite veg band, or a product review of your favorite veg food, drink, clothing, cosmetics or other items.
- Sign up to be notified when we have interviews available with famous (and sometimes not-so-famous but definitely interesting) vegetarians and vegans. Email Lucy Watkins to get on the list.
- Share your nutrition knowledge or experience. For example, we have articles by teens who've had a vegetarian pregnancy, and we are always open to articles about nutrition problems you experienced but overcame while maintaining your veg diet. Tell us what you learned!
The options are endless, but just remember that the first step to writing for us is getting your parental consent form on file. For suggestions on getting your parents to sign when they aren't too supportive, go here.
Submit articles and ideas to Melanie Wilson.
