Think Fruit

Brittany (right) and Sister with artwork

By Brittany Lintelman, age 14

You know, we all know that eating fruit is good for us, but in many ways it is also fun to look at. We take lots of trips to the museum, and we always see the new exhibits with my parents. Me and my sister Brooke while on our Christmas break enjoyed drawing various pictures of fruit at the museum. We enjoyed many cultural exhibits as well; the African exhibit was pretty cool. But I was impressed by the many paintings of fruits and pictures of vases with the apples and avocados, which also made me and my sister hungry, ha ha. We enjoyed a new twist on fruit. Not only is it good to eat its also visually appealing.

After the exhibit and the drawing sessions, we enjoyed lunch at the Bristol cafe inside the art exhibits, and much to my surprise, the special of the day was vegetable soup and fruit salad. Not only is fruit good for you its also good to view. Well this was my view on fruit as a visual and nutritional treat. Next time you decide to take a bite out of your apple try drawing it, may surprise you. Well, this is Britt's World…

--Brittany Lintelman is a devout vegetarian and an honor roll student.
