Alet van der Merwe, vegan, age 18

"I have been vegan since I was nine. I made the conscious decision never to eat an animal or any of its products after realising the cruelty that animals faced every day. I am proud to say that I have never looked back in regret, and I have been cooking for myself since then. I hope to raise a vegan family of my own!"

Breakfast: 1 slice of pineapple, 1 orange, 1 apple, 1 plum, strawberries, and sometimes if I am extra hungry I have a handful of nuts or a handful of dried fruit or some Fru-grains

Lunch: 1 appple, 1 orange, 4 rye vita crackers or 2 slices of vegan polenta bread, 1/2 an avocado, cherry tomatoes

Dinner: tofu (I like eating it raw, out of the pack), frozen brussels sprouts, carrots, cherry tomatoes, as much fruit as I like and sometimes for dessert I have some nuts or dried fruit, and on special occasions I have a Tofutti Cutie or some vegan biscuits or some carob.

Vegan cookies with an excellent flavor and texture...hard to believe they're vegan! Cool Shirts, Hot Accessories In a Veg Kitchen - Recipes & More from Nava Atlas
