Silverchair’s latest album, Diorama, is a stroke of musical genius. The sound combination of hard rock and orchestral music brings an almost rock-musical feeling to this album. The lyrics are poetic masterpieces. Rhyme is not need to make these songs flow because the word-poetry slides with the music. For instance, in the song, “Luv Your Life,” the lyrics, “Labyrinth of sympathy in which I'm lost and can't leave” are sprinkled alongside slow violins and guitars to fully communicate the meaning behind them. It is truly an amazing blend.
Silverchair improves their style with every record, each one better than the last. However, those used to the “old” silverchair will not be disappointed with such songs on Diorama as, “Lever” and "One way Mule.” These songs keep true to the hard rock kick that silverchair has been known for in the past.
If you truly appreciate a different sound to the rock genre, then this album is a definite must!
