The cover artwork shows a male figure with his head wrapped up with the American flag and tied up with ropes and blood splattered. I knew this band was going to be good. When I opened the CD case, a little sticker of a skinned cow's head fell out. It read: "Does your food have a face? GoVeg.com."
This hardcore straightedge band from Florida bashes religion ("For the Love of Fiction"), the omnivorous diet ("The Grenade in Mouth Tragedy"), the bond between money and war ("The Color of Blood and Money") and the hardcore music scene we have today. Peter K.'s anger definitely shows through in his words, but they're not your typical immature "F*** you and your friends!" words that many hardcore bands use. He screams viciously, but takes a break here and there for some mellow vocals.
To sum it up, I love metalcore, but they're excessive chugga chugga guitar riffs slow everything down for me. Their bonus track is much faster and good to start a headbanging frenzy, but I just wish the rest of the CD sounded like that. Just think of Throwdown meets Atreyu but with slower drum beats.
