When I first went raw, I did it mainly for health reasons, and I couldn't imagine how difficult life was going to be not having all the packaged, prepared foods I was used to. Salads and fruit are great, but sometimes I craved cookies, crackers, and veggie burgers.
When I heard that the Boutenko family was opening their own raw food store on their website, I was so excited! Their book, Raw Family, was one of the first raw books I ever read, and they really had a big impact on me. Their story is just amazing, and I could really relate to Sergei and Valya, their kids. So when I got these veggie burgers in the mail, I immediately ripped open the packaging and started eating...and now I'm addicted.
I make my own veggie burgers in the dehydrator, but I must admit that mine are nowhere near as good as these! I love the shape of them (just like a burger, while mine are never round and uniform), and the flavor is just the perfect mix of sweet and salty. I ate three in two days before I even took the time to read the package and see that you're supposed to dip them in water for a second to rehydrate them. I hope I can find the time to do that before I eat my next one!
